For species whose numbers are so low they are in imminent danger of extinction, Wildlife Preservation Canada is Canada&rsquo;s acknowledged expert in direct intervention programs to preserve their populations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are the only non-governmental organization in Canada involved in captive breeding and release, reintroduction, nest protection, and other beneficial hands-on recovery practices with multiple species in multiple projects across the country.\u00a0\u00a0 We always work in partnership with other organizations, and in collaboration with expert recovery teams.<\/p>\n<p>Wildlife Preservation Canada (WPC) integrates many different, yet critically important, components of an effective conservation program. Simply protecting a species&rsquo; habitat may not be enough to save a species on the brink of extinction. The success of our approach has been proven around the world, both to save species at risk, and to give an identity or focus to habitat preservation efforts.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>High quality, hands-on science<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It takes well-designed scientific <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4466 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/swift-fox-3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"swift-fox-3\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/04\/swift-fox-3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/04\/swift-fox-3.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>research to protect and save species. We provide hands-on training and field experience in the methods of endangered species conservation and management to young Canadian scientists through the intensive eight month <a title=\"Canada\u2019s New Noah\" href=\"https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/our-scientists\/species\/\">Canada&rsquo;s New Noah<\/a>\u00a0program. Through our <a href=\"https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/conservation-grant-guidelines\/\">Conservation Grants<\/a>, we support the applied field work of Canadian graduate students working with species at risk, ensuring that vital knowledge for conserving species at risk is collected while supporting the conservation career path of dedicated Canadian scientists &#8211; please see our <a title=\"Featured Scientists\" href=\"https:\/\/wildlifepreservation.ca\/conservation-grantees\/\" target=\"_blank\">Conservation Grantees<\/a>.
