Quatre-vingt-dix pour cent de toutes les plantes \u00e0 fleurs \u2014 y compris la plupart des fruits et l\u00e9gumes dans votre r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateur \u2014 ont besoin de ces pollinisateurs pour se reproduire.<\/p>\n<p>Jusqu'\u00e0 ce que les causes de ces d\u00e9clins puissent \u00eatre invers\u00e9es, l'\u00e9levage de conservation et la r\u00e9introduction sont la seule fa\u00e7on de prot\u00e9ger les bourdons en p\u00e9ril. Wilcox.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-12xf6sf-2c92046c04f328c2d207f8e56ef34afd av_one_full  avia-builder-el-22  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_one_full  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-men5hhso-21374b7c0421082dc7da5776e55f5fcd'   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><b>Oiseaux <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">join the lineup too &#8211; especially the <\/span><b>Ruby-throated Hummingbird<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Ontario\u2019s only native hummingbird species.\u00a0 They\u2019re the go-to pollinators for long, tubular wildflowers like columbine and cardinal flower.\u00a0 And while <\/span><b>bats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> don\u2019t pollinate very much here in Ontario (our native bats are insectivores), they are pollination powerhouses in the tropics.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve eaten a banana, mango, or guava lately, you have a bat to thank!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But if I had to pick one all-time MVP of pollination?\u00a0 It\u2019s the <\/span><b>bumble bees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, hands down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>B<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">umble bees are native, adorable, and built for the job.\u00a0 They&#8217;re fuzzy, active in cool weather, and come equipped with a variety of tongue lengths to feed from different flowers.\u00a0 They\u2019re also one of the few bees that perform <\/span><b>la pollinisation par vibrationla <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; vibrating flowers to shake out hard-to-reach pollen &#8211; a special skill that honey bees just don\u2019t have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best of all, they\u2019re <\/span><b>generalists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 While many pollinators are picky eaters, bumble bees forage from a wide range of native plants and have evolved alongside Ontario\u2019s flora for thousands of years.\u00a0 <\/span><b>Honey bees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, by contrast, are European imports &#8211; they\u2019re useful for agriculture, but are not nearly as in tune with local ecosystems.\u00a0 There\u2019s even some evidence that they can compete with sensitive bumble bee populations for limited floral resources (Wojcik et al. 2018).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So sure, honey bees put honey in our cupboards.\u00a0 But bumble bees keep our ecosystems blooming, and I think that\u2019s even sweeter.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-tcxs67-0ccdcd14e175400aa4a51e56ff33ef6d av_one_full  avia-builder-el-24  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_hr  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-men5jlny-c06657d7a6d04c2c3a5c6f6e87eaf62b'   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sources<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wojcik, V.
