chute pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9e de la population sauvage de pie-gri\u00e8che migratrice de l'Est dans les ann\u00e9es 1990, Environnement Canada a invit\u00e9 Conservation de la faune au Canada \u00e0 se joindre \u00e0 l'effort de r\u00e9tablissement multi-partenaires en 2001. Depuis, la taille de la population sauvage a fluctu\u00e9. Des \u00e9tudes ont montr\u00e9 que bien que l'effort de r\u00e9tablissement ait emp\u00each\u00e9 l'esp\u00e8ce de dispara\u00eetre du Canada, plus de travail est n\u00e9cessaire pour identifier et aborder les causes du d\u00e9clin de l'esp\u00e8ce. CFC travaille pour emp\u00eacher la pie-gri\u00e8che migratrice de l'Est de dispara\u00eetre en renfor\u00e7ant la population sauvage en Ontario, et en \u00e9tudiant l'esp\u00e8ce pour en apprendre davantage sur les menaces qu'elle fait face.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-b7glnoh-43b2863c6c0794ac1bda813996b39ed2 av_one_full  avia-builder-el-7  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_one_full  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-mq9rsbc0-1cc6290989bb0de65a51c19ee357e921'   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 mon avis, il existe une magie particuli\u00e8re qu'on ne trouve nulle part ailleurs que dans les prairies ouvertes de l'Ontario : le vent qui s'engouffre dans les herbes, les insectes qui bourdonnent tout autour de vous, et un ch\u0153ur de chants d'oiseaux qui remplit l'air. <strong>Mais cette symphonie s'estompe<\/strong>, et les oiseaux qui la composent ont besoin de notre aide. Les m\u00e2les en plumage nuptial ont l'air de porter un \u00ab smoking invers\u00e9 \u00bb, avec leurs parties inf\u00e9rieures noires frappantes et leur nuque d'un jaune cr\u00e9meux. Si vous me demandez mon avis, cependant, leur trait le plus impressionnant, c'est leur chant. Les goglus annoncent leur territoire en \u00e9mettant un joyeux fouillis de sons rappelant R2D2, qui r\u00e9sonne \u00e0 travers les champs de foin et les p\u00e2turages. Sa poitrine jaune vif, marqu\u00e9e d'un audacieux \u00ab V \u00bb noir sur la gorge, tranche contre les prairies alors qu'elle chante depuis les poteaux de cl\u00f4ture et les petits arbustes. Le chant de la sturnelle \u2014 un sifflement clair et fl\u00fbt\u00e9 \u2014 est l'un des sons qui d\u00e9finissent l'Ontario rural. Les sturnelles passent la majeure partie de leur temps \u00e0 se promener dans les herbes \u00e0 la recherche d'insectes et de graines, nichant dans des d\u00f4mes d'herbe soigneusement dissimul\u00e9s au sol. Contrairement \u00e0 de nombreuses chouettes qui respectent un horaire strictement nocturne, les hiboux des marais chassent souvent \u00e0 l'aube et au cr\u00e9puscule, volant bas au-dessus des champs ouverts d'un vol l\u00e9ger et papillonnant. Ces magnifiques chouettes d\u00e9pendent des prairies \u00e9tendues o\u00f9 les petits mammif\u00e8res comme les campagnols et les souris abondent, et elles sont particuli\u00e8rement agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 observer en raison de leur nature nomade \u2014 c'est-\u00e0-dire qu'en raison de leur d\u00e9pendance \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard de l'abondance de leurs proies, il n'est pas rare de les apercevoir quelque part o\u00f9 on ne les a jamais vues auparavant, et puis plus jamais apr\u00e8s. De petite taille et dot\u00e9s d\u2019un plumage aux motifs discrets, ces moineaux se fondent parfaitement dans leur environnement de prairie. Son chant, un trille court et bourdonnant qui rappelle un insecte, est souvent le seul indice de sa pr\u00e9sence. Le bruant sauterelle pr\u00e9f\u00e8re les champs ouverts avec des plaques de sol nu, o\u00f9 il se nourrit d'insectes et de graines. Avec son audacieux masque noir et son puissant bec crochu, elle ressemble plus \u00e0 un petit rapace qu'\u00e0 un oiseau chanteur. Les pies-gri\u00e8ches chassent les insectes, les petits mammif\u00e8res et m\u00eame d'autres oiseaux, empalant souvent leurs proies sur des \u00e9pines ou du fil barbel\u00e9 pour les d\u00e9chirer et les conserver pour plus tard. Ces redoutables pr\u00e9dateurs favorisent les prairies ouvertes parsem\u00e9es d'arbustes et de petits arbres qui offrent des perchoirs de chasse convenables. F\u00e9roce, intelligente et impossible \u00e0 confondre, la pie-gri\u00e8che migratrice est un symbole parfait de la complexit\u00e9 d'un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de prairie.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Outre le fait qu'elles d\u00e9pendent d'\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes de prairie sains pour prosp\u00e9rer, tous ces oiseaux partagent un trait essentiel : ils disparaissent tous. Les oiseaux des prairies d\u00e9clinent \u00e0 un rythme alarmant, et leur avenir est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont nous comprenons, g\u00e9rons et prot\u00e9geons ces paysages et ces populations d'oiseaux au fil du temps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C'est l\u00e0 qu'intervient le <\/span><b>programme Adoptez-un-site de Conservation de la faune Canada <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Elle poss\u00e8de une vaste exp\u00e9rience en sensibilisation environnementale, r\u00e9habilitation de la faune, et surveillance \u00e9cologique des oiseaux, des amphibiens, des reptiles et des insectes \u00e0 risque. Annika est titulaire d'une ma\u00eetrise en biologie int\u00e9grative de l'Universit\u00e9 de Guelph, o\u00f9 elle a men\u00e9 des recherches sur les facteurs limitants des zones humides agricoles
