There is no coming back from extinction. In Canada, many species are now perilously close to the edge.
Wildlife Preservation Canada (WPC) works with species at risk. We provide immediate action, such as conservation breeding and releases, to rebuild wildlife populations.
Species conservation requires multi-faceted collaborative approaches that include habitat protection, threat reduction, and community engagement. WPC takes this further with hands-on action to prevent species from disappearing from Canada.
With our help and your support, we can preserve Canada’s wildlife diversity for future generations.
A lasting legacy
Investing in the future of wildlife conservation in Canada can be as simple as leaving a bequest to WPC in your will.
As Canada’s last defence for endangered species, WPC ensures that all potential recovery actions are implemented to the fullest, and that Canada’s unique biodiversity is preserved for generations to come.
What is legacy giving?
Legacy giving, often referred to as planned giving, is a donation you can make through a will, or other formal designation. Legacy gifts are typically prepared in consultation with a financial planner to reflect your values and desires.
While wills, stocks and bonds, gift annuities, and bank accounts are the most common forms of giving, other legacy options may include gifts of real estate or insurance policies, for which WPC could be named as a beneficiary.
Wills and Trusts: Property or money may be bequeathed to WPC through your legal will. WPC may also be named as the beneficiary of a trust agreement.
Stocks and Bonds: Stocks and bonds may be donated to WPC as a direct gift and can be easily transferred without triggering a capital gain.
Gift Annuity: A gift annuity is an arrangement whereby you may transfer money or securities to WPC. In exchange, you may receive specified annuity payments every year for life.
Bank Accounts: Bank accounts, certificates of deposit, or individual retirement accounts may be placed in trust for – or made payable to WPC.
Whether you are interested in arranging a legacy gift or would like to learn more about how your investment with WPC could be recognized and allocated, please contact Ellen Reinhart, Administrator, at 519.836.9314.
We encourage you to consult your financial planner, executor, or legal adviser before making a decision regarding planned giving. This will ensure the best options for you, while contributing to the long-term sustainability of WPC’s mission to save Canada’s wildlife.
