Leave a Legacy

We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children.

The fight against extinction is a long-term effort.  By naming Wildlife Preservation Canada as a beneficiary in your will, you can help save at-risk wildlife for future generations.  Our policy is to apply bequests of more than $5,000 over multiple years, in order to build a sustainable funding base for long-term species recovery work.  A bequest may also offer significant tax savings for your estate.

Do we want to encourage donors to advise us that we have been named?  If so, how?

There are many ways to leave legacy gifts.  To give a defined amount or portion of your estate in your will, you may use the language below, which has been provided by a Canadian estate law expert.  It is also possible to give property, the proceeds of your RRSP or RRIF, or an insurance policy.  For more information, consult your financial planner or contact us.

“I bequeath to Wildlife Preservation Canada, 5420 Highway 6 North, Guelph, Ontario N1H 6J2, charitable registration number 89171 0535 RR0001…

select one of the following options

  • the fixed amount of $_____________
  • ________% of my estate
  • the rest and residue of my estate

…to be used at the discretion of the Board of Directors of Wildlife Preservation Canada to support ongoing programming.”

Can we find a generic guide to link to, to provide more information?
