Dr. Andrew Lentini has spent over 32 years at the Toronto Zoo, beginning as a camp counsellor and rising to Senior Director, Wildlife & Science before his retirement in 2021. Along the way he served as Curatorial Keeper and later Curator of Amphibians and Reptiles, and as Interim Director of Conservation and Wildlife. His conservation work includes reintroducing endangered Blanding’s turtles to the wild and breeding critically endangered Puerto Rican crested toads for release in Puerto Rico.

Andrew did his Ph.D. in Biology at York University in 2009, with a dissertation on the effects of surgically implanted transmitters on Massasauga rattlesnakes, and his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Physiology at the University of Toronto’s St. Michael’s College.
