

Jane joined the WPC Loggerhead Shrike team in 2019 as Conservation Breeding Coordinator, where she worked closely with partner breeding facilities to lead activities related to the Loggerhead Shrike Conservation Breeding and Release Program. Jane moved into the role of Lead Biologist in 2023, where she now oversees all aspects of the Eastern Loggerhead Shrike Recovery Program, which includes conservation breeding and release, wild population monitoring, research, outreach, and partnership development. Jane holds a Master’s degree in animal biosciences from the University of Guelph, where she studied building collision injuries in migratory songbird species. Jane has extensive experience in bird handling and husbandry as well as considerable experience banding, trapping, and collecting data from songbirds and raptors.
