As part of our ongoing initiative, “Youth and Community Greening the Rouge Watershed,” Friends of the Rouge Watershed works to plant native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers across our designated restoration sites (approximately 1 hectare) in the spring and fall of each year. The project will support current species which include monarch, viceroy, black swallowtail, tier swallowtail, red admiral, and white admiral butterflies; insects, including praying mantis, western honey bee, common eastern bumble bee, two spotted bumble bee, carpenter bee, beetles, damsel flies; and birds, including the ruby-throated hummingbird.
